4 speed shifter reverse lockout
I am restoring my 66 coupe, which I bought new 39 years ago. I am replacing the 3 speed with a 4 speed toploader. I bought a tranny and shifter. However, the reverse lockout on the shifter appears to have a streched cable in the handle and does not allow the shifter to engage the reverse shift linkage. Is there a way to dissassemble the shift handle and shorten this cable. I prefer not to buy a new shift handle. I am new to this forum. I apolgize if this has been addressed, but I have not been successful in finding anything in the archives. I am computer dumb. Thanks
