Default Headlights Possessed?

Does anyone know why the headlights come on every 5 minutes and go off when my '08 GT is unlocked. Its like someone is unlocking the doors with the key fob but the keys are laying right next to me. It happened today I was at the car wash keys laying in the cup holder while I was rinsing the headlights came on. Does this have something to do with the security system?

I wonder if your key fob is messed up. Have you noticed it do this when the fob is out of range?

No I haven't noticed it out of range but my keys hang next to the door at night and I lock my car. If there was something wrong with the fob my car should be unlocked the next morning because my lights come on just like its being unlocked.

Don't know if this is the case with yours, but when I was in the military, I worked with radars, and when it would spin towards the car, my alarm would go off. Maybe there's something around the area giving off RF (radio frequency) energy.

I just got my car back yesterday evening. I took it to get the oil changed and told the dealership about it. The tech working on my car watched it all day Monday and said it didnt do it at all. He also said something similar to what bronxbomba63 said if there is something running off the same frequency as the key fob for the door unlock and factory alarm that could be unlocking my car. He said to take it to the same places I noticed the headlights coming on the most and see if it happens again. If it does the service manager said they will reprogram it and go from there.

Default possessed headlights

I just jot back from dealer cause I was having a similar problem. look up TSB 08-9-2. Its about 70/08 mustangs having "un-commanded" perimeter lighting cause of water or moisture on the door disarm switch. The dealer ordered a new switch but I have to wait. Sooooooooooooooo I took a blow drier and taped on a shop-vac crevis tool to blow warm air onto the switch.. It seams to be working. I hope this helps you cause you stated it started after you washed your car. It was the same for me..

SRY that's 07/08 not 70/08. BTW my dealer looked it up as a known issue so make sure they fix yours under warranty.
