Default Need Help!

Ive been driving my cobra for the last 3 years and my gears have started to wear down. Its getting harder and harder to get my car into gear. Its hard to shift into any gear. Theres alot of friction, and some times its really HARD to get into to gear(Mostly Reverse). Also my 3rd gear is pretty messed up. I cant shift into 3rd without holding it in place firmly for a couple seconds. If i dont hold it in then it will pop out of gear and grind. I think i need a new shifter and maybe a striped gear?? What do u guys think?

I second that. Did you try to ratchet the quadrant?

if a gear was stripped (which is very highly unlikely) it would not pull at all. the teeth would be gone.

from what your saying it seems as though your clutch needs to be ajusted, and you probably need new syncros that could be why its popping out, none of your gears are ground down because you wouldnt go anywhere but your 3rd is probably worn somewhat, id recomend taking it in to a trans place and having it looked at, my friend had the same problems in his camaro and it ended up costing him around 1000 to get completly done, but it drives great now.
