Default License Plates

I've noticed a lot of people don't put a licence plate on the front bumper. I was wondering why not.

When I bought mine, there were no predrilled holes in it so I didn't put a vanity plate on it. I want to get one some time in the future. Should I beware of anything before drilling any holes? Maybe any tips to make it easier to do?

I dont have one cause it looks horrible but you do need on by law were I live. But to install the plate just center it up to were it looks good and then mark the holes threw the plate holes so there right and take a quick peek behind to make sure your not going to drill threw anything and drill away. Its a pretty simple install

Yeah, I left mine off after putting on aftermarket bumper cover. There was no predrilled holes either. Of course, since it is a stang, I did get pulled over and was given a ticket (damn Iowa State Highway Patrol). I told him Im not putting on a plate and he said he will be seeing me later then. He also gave me warning for not wearing my seatbelt correctly (under my arm instead of over) so he was a real dick anyway. But come on, a custom front end w/ an ugly license plate is just ridiculous....FIGHT THE MAN!!

A lot of cars may not have them if the state doesn't require the owners to have plates on the front. In Ohio, you have to have one on the front, so my car already had them when I bought her.

I wouldn't think it'd be too difficult though... just make sure you're not going to drill into anything important.

it's a fix-it ticket and a "processing fee" of 20-40 bucks if you don't have it in CA. I wouldn't bother with it if it doesn't have holes.

LOL!!!

In Georgia, we don't need a front license plate either. I want to put something badass on the front which is why I was asking about any precautions. I didn't want a hole in something important behind the bumper.

Stock bumper will have dimples in it where the holes should be put for the plate.
