It does slowly eat away at the clutch packs, hence the harder shifts. As far as how it works, you have to remember wheel spin makes you slower. Stock in Drive I ran anywhere between 14.6-14.7. Manually shifting I was 15.0-15.1. It would spin harder into 2. Stock I could bark tires all day going into 2 in Drive, with mods I was doing into 3rd a couple times before 4.10's. Now with 4.10's it will grab 2nd and 3rd everytime, hell it will grab 2nd with a little peg of the gas 1/4 way down to about 15mph. I haven't driven another auto GT that will do it like mine though, and I have Nittos on it as well.
I chirp overdrive (4th).

1st -> 2nd is sick.

2nd -> 3rd is alright.

I have an auto and the only time I use those two gears is when I'm driving fast and I need to slow down fast. Example: going 70 on a highway and a car cuts me off. I'll take it from drive and I'll drop it down to second. That will slow that car down fast. I know it will screw up the tranny but I'd rather replace a tranny then get hit.

Blueangel - perhaps you should install some brakes on that car!

tried the keep it in 1st, then shift up to second thing, and it takes like 2 seconds to shift! friggin' weak. I don't see how that is fun. need xcal for fun, I believe.

Yes you do, if you're going to manual shift knock it into 2 around 4500.
