IDLE ISSUES!!! 2000 GT
ok so im hoping someone can give me some kind of information about this problem. when my car is in park the idle wants to surge up and down. the normal idle rpm is set at 750, however the rpms will drop down low and then surge back up really quick, sometimes when the idle drops it dies completely. if you sit there and feather the pedal you can get it to idle, you just have to work with it, but if you rev it back up it will have the same problem. The problem didnt start until after i installed a BBK 75MM t/b and C&L plenum. Ive checked for vaccum leaks and dont appear to have any, the battery was unplugged when these were installed also. Im am completely stumped as to what could be causing this, so any information would be greatly appreciated.
kyle my gt has done that for the last 2 years i have looked at everything and searched up and down trying to figure out what has caused the surge and have not found any thing to stop it
well i just dont understand why it does it now, if the cars warm and i start it it will die unless i instantly give it some gas, so there has to be a fix to this problem, otherwise it will be a pain in the butt.
i know what you are saying it gets really old and annoying and there has to be a fix but in my 2 years of searching i never found a fix for it and everyone i talked to had no idea why it stalled like that
hmm all i know is i never had a problem like that until after the t/b. if i have to ill pull the darn thing off and put the stock one back on. ill sacrifice the couple horsepower just to get it to run right.
i had the same problem with my accufab and in the end...i took it off and went back to stock. do a search for idle hang, there's plenty of post about it and i believe there's a fix for it. something to do with the iac
i got a few things you can try.
try cleaning your MAF, IAC, and TB, easy things first.

one more thing to throw out there, my buddy a lonnnggg time ago had a similar problem to that. his IAT went bad and his car would die unless the accelerator was held in a little bit.

alright thanks guys, i know the iac is cleaned out because ive had it off and cleaned it. i did change maf's so that could be a good place to start also. i know when you unplug the iac sensor and then plug it back in it replicates the problem im having so im baffled as where to look. ill try these things out and post up with results.
