Exclamation *HELP* gauge cluster!

So I bought a El-glow over lay kit for my 03 GT ive instaled them before but never had to remove the needles... i took the needles off and finished instaling the gauges put the needles back on and pluged everything in and well now my gauges read all sorts of dif things. says i have a full tank when i know i was almost on E so im guessing i didnt instal then needles in the correct position. question is How do you know where to place the needles after you removed them so everything reads correct! Thanks in advance Andrew

Always mark your needle positions (at idle) before R+I. Do you remember where you idle? (usually right under 1 rpm) fill the tank completely. start over.

simplest thing to do is this. refill your gas tank completely, put the needle right in the middle of the F and go from there. i left my guage cover and the trim piece off until i had verified my needle positions. when your gas light comes on, your needle should just be hitting the E. the battery, temperature, and oil pressure ones are easy also. drive around enough to get the car COMPLETELY warmed up, and put all needles directly in the middle. (oil pressure and battery can be put in the middle position once the car is started but the temperature one needs to be warmed). RPM guage your SOL unless you remember where you idled at (usually around 800).

speedo ya got 2 ways. 1) find an open, strait, 2 lane highway and get a friend to go like 75mph and hit cruise control. you'll need to play around and get your car to get its cruise control set at the same speed he is going, then place your needle on 75mph (or whatever speed he's going).

option 2) find one of those radar signs in the middle of nowhere and lock your cruise control at any speed and drive at it. if it says your going 50mph, put your needle on 50. from there you can make some adjustments as necessary.
