Default Alternator problem over 3500 rpm ????

Hi everybody,
I've just bought a 99 V6 mustang and the battery indicator is lighting over 3500 rpm?
The battery level is still good so that I don't understand what the problem could be.
Do you guys have an idea?
My second questions is a silly one. Is there a box where you put your elbow between the two seats?
Thanks a lot.

This will require you to hook up a voltmeter, preferably digital,to the battery terminals. Then start the car and see what voltages you are putting out at different rpm's.This could be bad brushes that aren't staying in contact with the slip rings,a bad voltage regulator,or the diodes could be giving out.All of these will require a rebuild of the alt. or buying a new or rebuilt unit.

Yes there should be a console.
