i think my 96 gt is chipped.. i have no other mods but cat-back straight pipes.
i know the cpu is in the passenger side kick panel but i dont know how to check it and what im lookng for .. will it say superchips? lol i found some paper work in the glovebox when i got it and little super chip stickers were on the windows.. (i scraped them off) lol. but anyways if it is chipped.. what kind of power gains would come from this.. sure doesnt feel like the facotry 215hp.. it keeps up with the 99+ gts.. and doesnt have the PI heads. its also an automatic.. im a bit suprised by this and i have run two different 99 or newer gts and i never lost to either of them... so whats up with my car? everything is stock. or so it seems. thanks for reading.

a chip alone is not enough for you to be beating 99+ gt's unless something else is done to the car (gears maybe). a generic tune on a stock car is good for maybe 5-10 hp. if you don't have gears in then your just beating the driver.

My 95 was chipped and it actually caused only problems. Car overheated, bad gas mileage and NO hp gain.. Chip was removed computer flashed. Chips are kinda a hoax if you ask me... There not enough hp gain in any chip to add hp that meets the newer GT's especially an auto. You may have other mods on the car, or the guys your racin are F' with you
