Default HID Kit Question

I just started looking for an HID Kit for my mustang and I don't really have a clue on what I need. I do know I need a "9007", I have no clue what it means, I just know that that's the bulb I need. I also know I want a pure white color light meaning the bulb "heat" I guess should be 6k. I was looking on eBay for some kits and that's probably where I'm heading to buy the kit from.

Is there anything else I should need to know? Or as long as the bulb says "9007", it will fit and work?

I pretty much just need someone to run me through everything I need to know about buying a HID Kit...

Here's a link of a kit I just found on eBay that looked appealing to me; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-X...Q5fAccessories

ok..when buying a HID kit..you need to consider a few things. One being..is the kit 55w or 35w. 55w puts out more energy..brighter light more reliable etc. plus the ones you were looking at are not dual beam..so you wouldnt have a high beam..just a low. consider retrosolutions or hidguy.net. lifetime warranties and dual beam conversions.

+1 for retro-solutions. I have them for my headlights (5000K which is pure white) and I'm in love with them. One time there was something wrong with the ballast and I sent it back. They shipped out a new ballast after they found out it was defective! Their email service is great - responds back within a day.

So retro-solutions for the win! Just make sure use the discount code (10%) when you buy your hids from retro!

So I want to make sure they're 55w and dual beam. Are HID Kits hard to install at all? Any extra wiring need to be done? Or do you just replace your headlights pretty much?

Retro-solutions offers both 55W and 35W kits. They also have dual beam and single beam as well. Their HID kits were not hard to install at all (you'll receive an instruction book). I think the hardest part of installing HID Kits is finding a place to mount the ballasts - everything else is a breeze. There isn't any extra wiring needed to be done and you're not really replacing your headlights, just the bulbs in the socket. If you are experiencing a problem(s), their contact service is great or I can help you out if you send me a PM.
