you are on a mustang enthusiatst car forum and asking why not to buy a V6 mustang?? lol

1)it's a MUSTANG...buy a GT (V8)
2)i personally see it a waste of money to mod a V6 or put any kind of money into and it's already bshed up so unless your getting it dirt cheap save the money
3)having a v8 is soooo mich more fun to drive and well just the sound of one with an exhaust
4)IMO when you say "i drive a mustang" people automatically say ohh a gt??? and then you have to inform them...."no only a V6"

to me a mustang is one of those cars that never should have come in a V6....like the camaro. they are "sports cars" (use that term loosely) and i spointless to get a V6 one.

BUT some people just want to be able to say they drive a mustang...so they go V6 thinking gas mileage will be THAT much better. i have a GT midpipe and catback with TB and plenum and i can get 22-24mpg....i consider that good unless you are looking for alot more, in which case leave the V6 alone and go buy a Honda lol

again just my opinions....obviously you will do what you want

well if it is because of the price...then save more. if it's because of the insurance, then either get a better job, or another one, or one in general if you dont already ahah

ask your insurance company what the insurance would be....go home and crunch numbers to see what you can afford. i didn't have $8K to buy my GT but got a loan and figured what i make at my job....all worked out, and still continues to. My ins. went up about $50+ i think when i got the GT (i'm 23 with clean record)

goodluck

Nothing wrong with a V6. I say you should start with a V6 if a mustang is what you really want. I am 18, I just bought a GT last Saturday. You can see in my sig my old V6. I paid 7K for it, completely stock, with 52k miles. Put on a cobra bumper, cobra rims, an in dash dvd player, and the insurance wasnt sky high. I cleaned it up, and I LOVED it. I sold it for $9k. absolutely nothing wrong with a v6. Don't listen to Smitty. Get a nice v6, save some money, mod it how you want, take care of it, later down the road sell it and buy a GT. If you click on the link in my sig you can see more pictures of mine, and how I modded mine. You can also see how clean mine looked, and the difference in when I bought it, and when I sold it. Keep it waxed, washed, and buffed, and the paint will look great.

Now everyone is asking my WHY I sold such a great looking car, just to get a GT.

Although I sold my V6, spent $900 more and got a modded GT with less miles. I enjoyed my V6 while I had it. Its a nice car, pretty good on gas, and its still a mustang!

My opinion: GET YOURSELF A MUSTANG, EVEN IF ITS A V6!

^^ i just laugh at that because what did you end up doing?....BUYING A GT!

just think of what kind of GT you would have now if you just bought a GT in the first place and didn't put a cobra bumper/rims and whatever else on the V6...

I didn't lose but like $200 on that car, plus I drove 12k miles in it. And I wouldn't have near the car I do now, because Insurance was INSANE.

yea Smitty its real tough man, Im 19 now and i only make 8.45 at a job ive had for 3 years and even though i got another job this summer that pays 10 an hour, I still gotta get the money to pay for insurance (since i cant work alot while im at college) and have money left over to pay rent/ support myself. I'd love to get a GT, i really would but there's no point in killing myself over the summer to afford it and have little to no cash for the rest of the year. Gotta start small and work my way up.
