Default Fuel Filter

I know it's not a mustang, so delete the post if you must...

How do I get this adapter off? I'm too stupid to figure it out, even though I tried to obey haynes.

Stick a flat head in there and see if you can pull the inside green part back enough to get past the lip on the stem...

Already had, failed miserably. Tried needle nose, too.

Apparently it takes a special tool that's often used with A/C systems..
Bought it, hope it works.

Man that thing is pain.

But hey, thanks.
