2003 Cobra question..
Hello everybody..
I purchased a 2005 GT convertible about 2 weeks ago. I took it back today and got a 2003 SVT Cobra with 22,513 miles. I still prefer the looks of the newer mustangs, but this is more what I really wanted, performance-wise, and the price was right. Not that it matters to me, I love the car, but the salesman made it sound like my car, when compared to other Cobras, was a limited edition. But from what I have read, all I can find is how Cobra's in general are limited edition's, but there are no specific limited edition models in the Cobra lineup.. any info about this would be appreciated..

RE: 2003 Cobra question..
Another way to tell is the inserts are different colors than non-anniversary models. For example, a black '03 anniversary edition has red suede inserts vs. grey on a non-anniversary edition. I think the brake rotors were colored as well, if I'm not mistaken. Other than a few subtle style changes, the anniversary edition does not get you anything special in the way of performance.
Almost forgot and had to edit, congrats on coming to your senses! I think the 2005's are the biggest waste of money, regardless of the way they look. Ford will have to come down on prices when the new Camaro's come out regardless of how popular their new GT model is. This will in effect make those who paid 30k+ for a GT cry when their values drop to the floor as time goes by. Remember, the 03/04 Cobra was only made for 2 years, and even then, only about 19,000 were produced. That will keep our value high, especially since a new cobra model isn't hitting the streets until 2006 1/2. But who the hell would sell their 03/04 anyways just for money?
Now, start modding the fvck out of that beast and let the true potential come out. Soon, you will be looking at Z-06's, vipers and just about everything else in your rear view mirror.

RE: 2003 Cobra question..
Yeah u made a good choice, I went to the dealership in april to look at an 05, and they still had 2 brand new 04' Cobra's on the showroom floor, needless to say the price diff was 2k more for the Cobra, so it wan't that hard of a decision. Go to SVTPERFORMANCE.COM when u get a chance there good on Cobra info.

RE: 2003 Cobra question..
If its a 10th anniversary then that would explain it. It has red leather inserts instead on the gray suede ones, and the SVT emblem on the back says 10th anniversay, It has 7 spoke rims (double spokes), and has red painted calipers, along with a few other modest touches. Congrats on the snake. Have fun with her! BTW only 2003 10th anniversay editions were made.
