This is a better solution:

What's behind me is not important.

usually they are very small boxes that mount on the lip right above the top of the license plate. is that not a suitable spot for you?

I used one from Pioneer. There is enough room in there to mount most anything. Your trunk will still lock and unlock via the key fob.

I can't understand why anyone would need one to begin with. In a truck/suv, sure...Mustang...Whats the point?

because sometimes it's hard to judge how close you are to somebodys front bumper...or when you parallel park, and somebody parks right on your ***, it's good to b able to c how close u r without having to get out of your car, or worry about your beautiful car...i think it's just one of those things that's convenient

Well I put mine in bc it came with the a/v system. I find it handy to see the looks on camaro drivers as they fade into the distance.

I would rather a proximity type sensor than a camera...I know they sell a product to use for people with a garage. mount it to the bumper and it sends a beam and when you get a specified distance from the wall it beeps faster and faster till it is a constant tone and you're parked.

no need to SEE how close you are. if you set the sensor to a constant tone with 2" from any object you are doing the same thing, except not seeing. with the camera you may not be able to juge the distance, other than guessing how close you are.

may be one of those times when, on camera, it looks a lot closer/farther than you really are. with the sensor, at 2" or whatever you KNOW how far away you are. just an idea
