Hi, I baught a used 96 gt with 120,000 miles and now I have around 128,000, and last year it started to smoke really bad and I had it checked out and at the minimum it need new rings. I have some mods done but none to the motor. I have a procharger running 12psi on the stock motor and I dont have any idea what it would cost at a shop to get fixed. Also wondering about getting the motor set up to run with boost, ive heard that supers are hard on stock 4.6's, and what it would take to get it to be reliable with a super(dont want to rebuild it in four five years)... Any help would be great!

best bet is a rebuild with forged internals for boost applications

 

+1 forged shortblock.

12psi is a lot for stock bottom end btw.
