Default Difference in Insurance?

Would an LX 5.0 have lower rates than a GT 5.0? I've found one of either modelfor 4k at a local dealer and ifi were to get onethat would be a factor in the decision. Any help? Thanks.</P>

[edit] car 1...87 gt 5 speedconverted to mass air with minor mods like exhaust and headers and junk...but it's red.</P>

car 2...89 lx hatch5 speedbout stock...nice shade of blue.</P>

problem with both is i dont see why 1. the total miles are unknown in both cases 2. if theyre salvage titles (though i cant see why they would be) 3. they look as good or better than most cars they sell there but are about 1-2k under what they would normally charge for em. 4. how freakin bad insurance would suck...full coverage or liability only.</P><edited><editID>Jugador</editID><editDate>37950.9670023148</editDate></edited>

Default Difference in Insurance?

My insurance is pretty cheap. Cheaper than my truck. They're both liability only and under $200/6 months. Of course they're also both 5k miles per year, and neither is my primary, and I'm 26....

In MA, if it's a sports car with a V8, regardless of the model or specs they all cost the same. I don't know if that helps ya any. Just call and get some quotes..</P>

heh.

I still want to know why my '91 mustang GT is cheaper to insure than my 86 Dodge 4x4. oh. Maybe it's the air bag. <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley11.gif border="0">

Depends on the insurance company, your record, and the state laws in effect. In Indiana, the larger the engine and/or the more "sporty" the car, the premiums are gonna be high. Anything with a V6 or V8 will be more than a four banger...which is why I'm sticking to sport compacts for now. <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P>
