Default Brake change, 2002 GT ?

I am doing a full replacement of front brakes at 45, 200K miles. The front is overdo for a change. My ? is this... I have new Hubs, rotors, and performance pads. What is the name of the part, that keeps the hub in the rotor. Is it the hub keeper? Where can I get one, besides the dealership? Can any auto shop/machine shop press them in on the new parts / press out for old parts.

Thx! Tap

What do you mean new hubs????All you need is the rotors and pads. http://www.streetrodparts.tv/Install_11brakes.htm heres a diagram
You need the rotor and pads then you remove the nut and bearings and swap them to the new rotor. There is no pressing involved.

I have the upgraded Ford performance brakes. The Hub and bearings are a one piece assembly. The bearings are not removable on my model. In order to lube bearings, you have to purchase a new "sealed from factory" hub assembly. On my rotors, the hub/bearing assembly slides into place. Then, there is a backing plate with fingers, like a starburst that line up with the back of the hub. It is pressed into place in order to keep the hub/bearing in the rotor assembly. Thanks for the brake install article. I viewed it before posting. My hub is different than th 5.0 model pictured.

I had the rotors off last month, to see what I was in for. The rotor comes off with the hub/bearing and backing plate in one piece.

Thanks for the input and quick reply.

James

The reason I am replacing the Hub/bearing, is because the bearings are dry. My wife took a trip in January to visit her family up north, and drove thru alot of salty, snow/ice covered roads. Upon her return, I noticed a dry bearing noise coming from the front end. It has gradually gotten worse. The 5.0 article is correct, in my application. But, I need to replace the hub/bearing also. This is the reason for the hub... If I were not replacing the hub/bearing, all would be well. Thanks for any input you may have.

Thanks, James
