Default Getting Blown

Hello all,

Not sure if this is the right place for this kind of post,if not mods please move.

Well,I finally pulled the trigger on getting a supercharger.Vortech V3 kit from brenspeed (props to brenspeed, excellent people to work with,as always!). I'm hoping to make just over 400 whp all said and done.mods when the s/c is installed will be:

vortech V3 (non intercooled) @ 8psi
pypes LT headers
pypes O/R H
Pypes violators

Is there any extra maintenance I should be aware of as far as a supercharger is concerned? this being my first supercharged vehicle I'm not particularly aware of what to be ready for.

On a side note, when the s/c goes on I'll have an air raid cold air intake kit and a set of steeda U/D pullies that will be coming off.The intake I've had on for a little over a year, probably about 4k miles on it.The U/D pullies are virtually brand new, just had them put on at brenspeed in april I think it was, probably less than 2k miles on them.I'd really rather they go to someone who will use them than sitting in my garage collecting dust,so if anyone is interested just let me know.

just make sure you keep your engine oil and all other fluids changed frequently (and switch to synthetic if you have not already) and the V3 is a self contained head unit it has its own oil sealed in the head unit it does not use oil from the oil pan like the v1 and v2. so the blower oil itself needs to be changed at its intervals also. not positive how frequent the v3 is i seem to remember the prochargers are about 7500 miles tho. make sure you keep an eye on your belt and it may not even be a bad idea to carry an extra one in the trunk since some people run into problems right after they install (something not lined up right or whatever).

thanks for the info,i'll keep my eye on it.So the blower will just need it's own fluid in the unit? the same oil I use in the motor will work? right now i'm running royal purple 5w20.

You should get the engine dyno tuned after all that stuff goes on it.

definitely.brenspeed is sending me an e-mail tune, but I'm going to dyno it as well just to see what i'm making and do any tweaking that it might need. Not that i don't trust brenspeeds tune :P
