Freaking dings! How to avoid them?
I got 01 GT Coupe, I seem to collect dings and chips. Chips occur mostly on the side doors, where it is shaped like a ^ at the top. Dings happen on the door. Freaking people just don't seem to care, and I always park the hell away from everybody, but still get them. Is there anything that you could put on to protect her? Any parking tricks, anything?

If you don't mind walking park further out than everyone else. That's what I do. No problems. Of course every once in a while you will get someone else trying to do the same thing. And instead of using the other empty spaces they gotta park right next to you. [:@]

If you caught the freak right there, saw him do the damage, what can you do? If you know the ding wasn't there before you left, and now it is there, and you suspect the car beside you, what you do then?

dude, become friends with a ding repair guy. They can do incredible things.
Other than that, don't sweat it, there's nothing you can do to avoid it. The ding will eventually come regardless of where you park.
Here's a story...I remember this one winter, this guy parks way in the back of a mall parking lot...far far away from everyone. Its freezing cold and its like a 5 minute walk to the mall entrance. My idiot friend wants to show off by doing some donuts in the snow...and he slams right into this guys car. Needless to say, he had a rather large ding on the side of his car LOL [:@]
Other than that, don't sweat it, there's nothing you can do to avoid it. The ding will eventually come regardless of where you park.

Heres my advice (not practical for most people though). I rarely drive it anywhere where i know it will be sitting out and vunerable to dings etc.... for example, havent drove it to work since i have owned it (4 years now). Mostly just a cruising car and if i do have to stop some place, its a park far away, get in get out kind of thing. I dont trust anybody!! Thats probaly why it has so few miles on it..1995 gt vert-just turned 50000 miles last week. Oh, and one more thing, my buddy parked his stang in a parking lot of a grocery store and did the usual park like a mile away and walk to the store thing. Well, he come out to see something that would just make me cry!! A friggn' shopping cart on the side of his new stang. Talk about a major ding! For some reason, the parking lot must slope out and of course some loser just left there cart sittiing in the lot. Probaly picked up some speed and BAM!
