Sub: $70 (flea market but new)
Amp: $80 (craigslist)
Wiring: $30 amp install kit from audio shop
1/2" MDF (price depends on size of box you are making)
capeting $10 a sq yard (price depends on size of box)
a weeks worth of design and a day of fabrication....
I have since cleaned up the wiring and added the other cover to the RF amp. I hits plenty for me. I'm not into mind blowing bass but my amped 5x7's were not cutting it in the low end bass department. It is in a location where I used the factory mounting hole in the trunk for the Mach 1000 sub locations, so no drilling/modification was needed. I only needed to put a small hole in the trunk carpet to get the bolt through it.

...oh and you are seeing fiberglass behind the sub. I went through a couple designs along the way. It is a mold of the factory wheel well "beauty cover". But the way my box sits I needed to notch it, so I did not want to cut the factory one so I used that. Has since been painted and carpeted to blend in.

That really does look great. I've been considering installing a sub in mine, but have been debating on best placement, etc. That, plus I currently have the stock radio still in it. My wife gave me the sub a few years ago and I still haven't used it- was going to put it in my Eclipse, but then it died before the install.

If anyone needs ideas/tips you can PM for how I did mine.
