Window Tint
This week I plan on getting my windows tinted on my Mustang. I live in MO and the legal limit is 35%. That's hardly noticeable though. So I'm thinking at least 20% all the way around. I'm stuck between the 20% all the way around or doing 20% on the driver and passenger sides and then maybe 5% or 10% on the three rear windows. I can't decide and would like some of your opinions please. Feel free to give any other suggestions as well.
I'm not sure how strict the cops are here in St. Louis about tint, but if anyone thinks I'd be able to get away with darker tint than I'm thinking, please let me know.
Thanks.
P.S. I'll be sure to post pics after it's done for you to see, knowing how everyone likes seeing updated pics.

I wouldn't go over legal limit. It's just begging for trouble, and once they have you pulled over for something like that you are asking them to go over the whole car looking for more tickets to hand you.
Looks wise, I like even tint on all windows. Also remember, that the factory tint will come into play when looking at end light transmission. So if legal limit is 35%, and you add 35% film, it's going to fail a check.

In AZ, legal limit is 35 on drivers and passengers doors, 5% everywhere else. I also agree that 35 is too light, especially for AZ, and will go with 20% on the sides and 5% everywhere else. Around here, they don't even bother the people with 5% everywhere. It's a crap shoot though.
where i live the legal limit is 75%. my mustang and my truck are 20% and ive never been pulled over for it......been pulled over for many other reasons but never tint.
if your car has no tint from the factory, id do 20% on the side and 5% on the rear (the rear is huge and lets in tons of light). if the car has factory tint in the back id do 20% all the way around.

None of my windows have tint. I talked to a few of my friends and people they know that have their windows tinted, but they're on ricers... And they've never been pulled over for tint and it's like 5% and colored even... So I'll probably just go 20% on the driver and passenger and then 5% on the three back windows.
If anyone would, maybe help find me a picture of a mustang with 20% tint? I'm having trouble finding a good picture to get an idea of how much light would be let in during the day.
At night my windows would look darker and it'd be harder to see through then day, right?

35% is plenty noticeable if you go 5% on the rear. I mean you're not gonna be hiding in there but it's noticeable for sure. Thats what I have on mine.
From experience it's a huge pain if you get popped for the tint and have to take it off. Just a waste of money/time and a hell of a mess. And to your last question- Yep.

I have 5% on all my windows. Previous owner had this done but didnt fix the inside window felt. This is on an 06Gt and the tint is scractched.
I will probably try to get it retinted the same but our legal limit here in Arkansas is 25% I think on the windows. Not sure how easy it will be to find a shop that will go under the legal limit.
