When replacing rotors, also replace pads?
Front stock rotors are worn below spec, so I plan on replacing them soon. The pads are fairly new (about 5k miles on them) and have plenty of meat left. Do I have to replace the pads when I replace the rotors, or can I use the old ones? Thanks...
Side question, any recommendations for rotors? Money is tight, so I'm looking for something better then stock (slotted) but not über expensive. I've been eye'ing Centric PowerSlot rotors (12661041SL & 12661041SR). RockAuto.com has them for $138 for the pair ($163 shipped). Good buy? Thanks...

You should, but don't "have" to put brand new pads on with the rotors. If you're just using it for street use and nothing serious, just stay with the factory rotors. You really don't need drilled or slotted rotors on regular street cars. If you want improved stopping power, instead of using your pads and getting new slotted rotors, get OE rotors and get some hawk pads from americanmuscle.com

I've bought parts from rockauto a bunch of times over the past couple years. Never had a problem. Great parts selection, website and customer service. I also checked out summitracing.com and they have them for $193.50 for the pair ($205.45 shipped). Rockauto.com only wants $163 shipped.

Look at Wilwood for replacement rotors, you might find a better rotor for less than OEM. Slotted is fine, avoid cross drilled. and depending on rotors/pads, it may be a better idea to use the pads you already have....if they're properly bedded then they're ideal for bedding a new rotor.
