Default Hissing GLI

I was down in ocean city this weekend. I was sitting outside on on deck when i heard this Loud hiss. i got up walked over so that i could face the street and looked at what did that. Thats when i saw a JETTA GLI roll up to the stop sign and another huge hiss came from it. I realized it was the turbo but my friend has the identical car and hers doesnt do that at all. He must have had a higher Turbo or what did that. Cause I kinda wana do that

well for a jetta gli there may have been a 2.0L engine in which you can put a supercharger on it. the hissing may have been a supercharger if it was coming to a stop.

oh ok, well i know that you can supercharge the 2.0L jettas, i personaly like VW and nissans and mazdas. I like the rotary engines a lot, thats one great engine.

was it a new jetta? The guy probably had a turbo on it with an atmospheric BOV. When you press the clutch the wastegate pops the spring releasing the air and you get a PSSSSSSSSSST sound.

Or, if you heard it spooling, just listen to a semi next time you're on the right side of it. The pssssssst whistling sound is the turbo spooling.
