Alright I have been fixing up this 83 Mustang with a 302 that I picked up at a decent price. The 302 is running strong now its onto the transmission. It has a 5 speed manual and I am trying to figure what it is exactly.

The transmission grinds going into 3rd 4th and 5th unless you baby the clutch my Dad thinks its the synchros* (new to these manuals please forgive). I have been trying to track down a t-5 on craigslist.

So should I stick with that plan or try and rebuild the transmission in the car myself? Taking it in to be rebuilt will run me at least 900 AAMCO says. Any advice is welcome.

 

Delete button? I found a T-5 on craigslist. Worries have subdued.
