Default trunk question

hey guys im new to this site. I own a 2010 GT and love it, but cant afford to do much than pay for it. But the 1st thing i wanted to get done is get ride of the GT badges and emblems.. Ive seen methods to removing them, but my main thing is the trunk.. After i remove the giant emblem theres that huge area where it used to be, now do they sell trunks that are flush or do i bring it to a body shop and have them figure it out?

If you want just a bare rear you're gonna have to cut out the metal where it mounts as there is an stamped circle under that emblem as well as 4 holes.... You'd have to weld a perfectly curved (to match the trunk) piece, grind it, prime it, paint it.

Basically same process as shaving door handles. Unless you can do all that yourself, it will cost a ton and really isn't worth it. You could get something like the CDC decklid blackout but some people really hate the way that looks too. Other people have just taken off the emblem and painted it to match the car.

Also, even the GT side badges, you will be left with 2 holes in your fender if you aren't planning on a replacement emblem of some kind.

Here's a link to removal instructions (CDC panel instructions) with pics of what it looks like under that cap-

I just think that damn thing is just so damn ugly on such a sharp car. And Im not one for those decklid black outs, ive seen them and just think they look like a cheap cover up. Well i guess ill just have to save some extrea pennies on the side untill i can afford some body work done, i also want mat black stripes down it also so ill get it done when that happens..

The way i see my car is my dark blue with 2 dark stripes down it clean of any badges sitting on the RTR wheels.. Hopfully that all can get done within the next year..
