Default 3.8 Aliminium Headers

Hey everyone! Anyways, i'm currently restoring a 1983 3.8 mustang conv. and have located almost all the parts i need, except one. I can't find aliminum headers for a 1983 3.8 mustang. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could direct me to a sight or a phone number of a place that makes them for that year and all. That and maybe some sort of ground effects or fender flares place for the same year and model. Thanks

Aluminum headers???

Most people get steel headers, either stainless or mild, and either ceramic/jet hot coated or painted. I don't think I've ever heard of aluminum headers.

Besides that, aluminum has a melting point of 620 degrees celcius. That's somewhere around 1150 degrees F if that website calculator was correct (9/5C+32=F)

That's really quite odd, because EGTs are usually in that range, so I'm wondering why aluminum heads don't melt. Perhaps the cooling system does a really good job, and there's no coolant for the headers? I dunno.

Well what do you suggest as being the best off headers for that, that would be lighter and give me more power? Someone mentioned to me that aliminum headers would be light and give me more power, so i figured as much would help. i don't know any real good quality sights for them though....

My guess is that who ever told you to get aluminum headers meant aluminum heads. Easy mistake to make, I havent heard of aluminum headers either, and yes, aluminum melts at that tempt. I had an 89 S/Ced Cougar with a 3.8, it had aluminum heads, so thats something.
