Default 302 vs. 351

Bikejr, m motors may be "modified", but they're not the way to go, imho. Edelbrock was the only one to put out a 4bbl manifold for the "m" motors, as all the 351 and 400m's came from the factory with 2bbl carbs. The heads are restrictive and you would have to modify 351w heads to make them fit. You'd probably spend twice the money to get them to run with the 302/351w, maybe more.

The "c" motors were at first the most popular, because they came from the factory in a "hopped up" mode, but with the advent of the 5.0, mods became numerous and less expensive for both the 351w and the 5.0. I ran a 400m motor with modified 351w heads on my dirt car, and I was perfectly happy. But that was 19yrs ago. No way would I attempt to run a "c" or "m" motor in this day and age. Too expensive to attain the same results.
