Default Tired of Integra wanna GT

Well now that i have finally paid off my little vtec integra I realize the car is great for reliability but horrible on torque.... Its still in great condition at 70K and i plan on sellin it for around 7K and puttin all that money down on a mustang, honestly i would not mind opting for the ls1 but i actually want windows and doors to work after a year of use so ill stick with the mustang, I have driven em i know i like em ... I dont want somethin old, I actually wanna 2000 and up gt mustang... what should i do, i dont have a job yet but i shall soon... What are the differences in 99 and up gts? How reliable are they? I would love to get a 32 valve cobra but i dont know if can find/afford a nice one... How hard is it to make a gt have a functional hoodscoop like a bullit? Its just gonna be a daily driver nothin extreme...

Ok, first welcome to the forums, second, the 99+ GT's have PI stuff which means more hp, a 98 GT had 225 hp and a 99 had 260. There are several more differances but thats the major one. Also 02's were changed a bit from the previous models. The earliest I would go is 2002. They are pretty reliable atleast mine is. Cobras are about 28,000 for a 03 and cheaper for a 01 or 99. And bullitts did not have functional hood scoops, mach 1's do. They make a kit for them at classicdesignconcepts.com but are a waste of time IMO. Good luck and have fun!

Welcome. When looking for a GT you need to remember that 96 was the weakest(215 hp), 97 and 98 were at 225 and the 99+ were about 260 and PI stock. If you buy one from a private person have them right EVERYTHING they know about the car, previous owners, mods, and maitenance/work done on the vehicle. That is real important for when I got my 96 GT the guy didn't tell me everything that he had done and I had no information about the car. This did cost me a few dollars but now I think I have most of the kinks worked out.

Thanks everyone... I think im just gonna start savin my money now and when I come across the right one then ill see.... How bad is insurance gona get me im only 20 but no wrecks only dumb tickets... I asked here when gas prices might decline cuz i cnat seem to find a definative answer anywhere... I might pick one off a dealer for a little over 10k depends on what i can find, i love the gt mustang, and it will quite a thing to go from 128 measly pounds of torque @7600 rpm to waht 305 in a gt...
