Talking scanguage2

Will a ScanGuage2 work on a tuned GT? The ScanGuage2 has a horsepower guage that is maybe better than a dyno because it plugs into your port. Check it out!

That's gotta be complete bs. The only way it would know that is if your car's pcm knew how much power the engine was producing at any given rpm, which it doesn't. Otherwise the aftermarket would have hp gauges to sell you and people would be sporting them in their pods. Chassis dyno's are somewhat subjective and otherwise open to influence, but when set up properly and ran by a good technician they're still about the most reliable source for acquiring hp and torque values.

I says on the scanguage site that you gotta put in a code or something to get it to read Hp? Do you have a scanguage? If you do could you let the rest of the world know if it is worth the money?

I use a scangauge II on my 2005 F350 diesel and 2000 3.8 mustang. It works on any vehicle 1996 or newer equipped with an OBDII port. It has 24 digital gauges you can program into it by going to there web site and getting the codes. It displays 4 gauges at a time. I monitor transmission temps, coolant temps, air intake temps, volts, mpg, and it gives instant horse power readings as you drive. It's also an OBD code reader and you can turn the check engine light off after repairs. It's worth every penny as I have avoided serious engine meltdowns by monitoring the digital gauges over the idiot gauges on the dash. I have seen the coolant temps at the boil over point and the idiot gauge on the dash still reading normal !! It's nice to know the operating temp of the transmission also.
