Default Instrument Panel Lamps

Hi...Is it possible for a "weekend mechanic" to replace burned out bulbs in the instrument panel of an '02 Mustang? I have bulb burned out behind heat/air/defrost rotary switch, and my local dealers says it is a dash tear-apart, at the cost of approx. $130 for labor!

Thanks!

Mike

Sure thing.

It's not a dash tear-apart thought. It's a little bit simpler, the entire dash don't come off. I don't know how to do this on stang though, I'm just replying because nobody else did.

If you are talking about your A/C controllers, then it should be simpler. Remove shifter bezel/console to gain access under the switches. You should reach bulbs from there.

dude cant you take the cover off and replace the bulb yourself?

umm my 2000 stang has 2 bolts up on the top of the cover to get to the cluster.
its pretty simple. I would do it yourself unless you got all kinds of money then pay me to do it. lol

bulbs are cheap at autozone

He's not trying to change a bulb on the gauge cluster, he's trying to change one behind the A/C-Temp-Fan Speed panel.

Get a brushed or mirror finish stainless stell A/C panel cover (as shown) and put over it, then you won't have to deal with any of those bulbs.
