Default New Car Stink

Wondering if this is just normal for a new car and if anyone else has noticed this before.
When i get home from ,about a 20 min drive, and park it in the garage,it smells like something is burning or extremely hot.I don't see any smoke, not overheating, nothing i can see under the car.The way it smells it seems like smoke should be pouring out of something.
Could it just be the cats or is it just a normal breaking in smell?
So far i only have 150 miles on it.

I've never smelled that on a new car, but I haven't had a new car in 6 1/2 years, so I dunno. I would open the hood and sniff around and see if you can find the source. Are you sure you didn't get a grocery bag stuck on a catalytic conv. or something? You probably laugh, but it happens a lot.

Sometimes when I drive with new tires or even drive spiritedly I can smell my tires a little more lol. And with the weather warming up, I would think heating rubber or "burning" rubber is gonna be a much more common smell. I know it sounds kinda stupid, but that was what I was smelling last summer... I can't really think of any other reason for such a peculiar smell, sorry.

EDIT: Maybe an oil leak? I think a clogged PCV may also be the prob, damaged piston rings? Sorry just throwing some possibilities out there...

That is actually the first thing i looked for, this smells like hot, like clutch, burning metal,i'm probably not explaining it right but it just smells like something is extremely hot.
I haven't really got on it hard yet... well there was this once the red line light came on

Are you driving in a spirited way just before you get home and then putting it straight into the garage? Try driving easy/slow during the last 10 minutes before you get home and see if you still smell it. Is it a stick-shift? Are you slipping the clutch a lot? You have to be very careful about doing that on a high-power car, you'll burn the clutch up fast. It needs to be let out as quickly as possible without jolting your head into the headrest. If you slip it, it will BURN.

If the car has been undercoated and they overspray on the exhuast system that will stink for a while.

It is more than likely the "new" burning off your exhaust. No worries.
