Default Car using to much Gas!

I have a 2000 mustang GT and I am barely getting 250 miles on a full tank. What could be the problem? I have installed new spark plugs. My uncle thinks that the rear end gear ratio has been changed. Could that be the problem? Any suggestion on what I need to do to figure out the problem with the fuel efficiency? The fuel filter and oil has been changed.

you can increase mileage with narrower tires, higher tire pressure and by KEEPING YOUR FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR!

Do you have an aggressive tune? When I had my 93 Race tune uploaded I was barely getting 16mpg. Now with the 87 street I'm above 20.

Are your tires inflated properly?
