I know I might be a minority but does the 4.6 in the 2005-2009 sound better and deeper than the 5.0. thats just my opinion do you think differently I personally like the 4.6 in the 05-09 and then 4.6 the 2003 and 04 mach 1 and then the 5.0 in the 2011

What do you think ? just curious

 

I haven't really seen enough videos of the new 5.0 to give an opinion. From what I've heard it's not the best sounding engine. It's the power and it's potential that get's me excited.

I like the sound of the pushrod 5.0s the best, though.

 

True I do like the potetial of the 2011 do nt get me wrong and the sound of it would not stop me from buying one

 

Considering that i have now heard them all with various after market exhausts, here's how i'd personally rate them:

1) 5.0 pushrod
2) 4.6 2 valve
3) 4.6 4 valve
4) 5.0 4 valve
5) 4.6 3 valve

But as good as any of the these may sound, none of them can compare with the old big blocks of the late 60's IMO.

 

I heard a 2011 5.0 on the freeway the other day and it sounded amazing. Not sure if he had am exhaust on it or not but i was quite amazed.

 

I've heard exhausts on every year that I like/dislike but generally I rank em like this, in order of preference:

-03/04 Cobra or any 4.6 4v
-Pushrod 5.0
-4.6 2v
-4.6 3v
-5.0 4v
