Hey folks i am a newby here and just bought my first Mustang. It's an 87 Cobra.
Now i would like to know what is the diff between a Cobra and a Gt besides badges.
I know on the newer Mustangs there is a diff but i have no clue about the ones from the 80's.
If anybody could help me out, that would be great.

 

Yea, just to let you know, your "friend" lied to you. The cobra mustang was around in 87. 1993 was the first year. So yeah you got hosed. sorry bud

ah no worries man, i am not pissed about it. I just wanted to confirm that there was no cobra that year. It's still a beautiful car and just make me even more happy that they guy who owned it put the time into it to make look different. But thanx for confirmation

 

Is it a Canadian car? If it is they were labeled as cobras.

 

Its is a Canadian car. So it could be a cobra just by badging then. Either way the car looks unreal. Needs work as it has been sitting for 4 years in a barn and the original owner past away. So i don't have much info on the car.

the cobra was way before 93, that was the first SVT cobra r, yes.

fox body's also had a "Gt Cobra" i am unsure of any differences to a gt, i think its just emblems. but it IS a cobra.

Yuppers. Someone in town has 3 fox body cobras all black. lol.
