Default 2015 4 Banger Stang?

Any one else heard the rumors of this?

"Nothing is official, but Motor Authority says the redesigned pony car will feature a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine and, possibly, a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6. Of course, to appease the fans, the 5.0-liter V8 will continue to be available but it might be outfitted with direct injection technology to improve fuel efficiency."

What do you guys think of this?

Just a hunch, but I think the V6 is more likely.

People hate on V6s being in Mustangs as it is. A 4 banger would be even worse. I also heard though on another forum that the Mustang is going to be smaller and in turn lighter (for the new engines). I do not want to see a return of the Fox.

Ehhh, the '11 V6 is ok in my book, but prior to now the Mustang base engines have always been pretty anemic. And I wouldn't worry about the Fox returning (although I loved those cars when I was a kid), but let's just hope they don't do a modern interpretation of the Mustang II.

Wouldn't be the first time the Mustang had a 4cyl. I'm okay with it.

Oh boy.... A modern Mustang II would make me go Dodge. Lol. OK... I would not go that far. I would just be quite unhappy.

Base engine is the ecoboost and the 5.0 will be available. Downside in this wonderfull global economy that the car is being designed and engineered in Brazil. An American Icon with a Brazilian Wax.
It will be a global car with all the Europeon pedestrian impact standards, meaning lots of round curvey lines, no sharp edges on the front end. Oh say bye to the Boss, because the Boss intake manifold won't package under the new standards.
