Default car bogs down under heavy acceleration help

while driving home i floor the gas pedal to the floor. car accelerates like normal but suddenly car bogs down... almost like it missed a gear or something... i let off the gas and the car seemed to accelerate normal again.

i stop and take off again and floor it and as the rpms climb the car just bogs down again.. i have to let off the gas so it drives normal again. it makes this noise as it bogs down. check engine light came on as this happened.
code was for a cam position sensor. replaced the sensor and weeks later car is still bogging down under heavy acceleration and check engine light came on again for same thing.

changing the sensor didn't do anything. Ive just been driving normal.
car shifts/acts fine when driving normal.

what could be wrong with my car?

What is the exact code you are getting. Most codes have multiple causes, and sometimes they aren't that obvious. Could be a bad coil or spark plug wires etc etc. The list goes on...

Bogging under load sounds like a spark or fuel issue. Check the fuel filter, plugs, and wires. Replace them all if they have not been replaced before.

If you're running cats, you may also want to check that they aren't just at their life's end now. But Plugs, wires and fuel filter first!
