hey guys im looking into getting a mustang. i have 20k to spend and i have no preference on whether i want an older model or a newer model. i know for sure i want a gt tho, no v6 stuff. Also all the left over money will go into upgrades. so shall i get an older model and have more upgrade money or a newer model with less upgrade money? any suggestions are appreciated.

Take the 20k and get you a nice 03-04 Cobra. Great power, strong engine, and you can pretty easily make even more power

 

Get a 03-04 cobra. Come from factory with eaton blower and forged internals. They respond well to mods and you can find a nice one for 20k. GL!

 

I love the "03-04 Cobra" blurt out answers for everything. Especially when he specifically said GT.

Nice budget to work with, but before you can pick you car, you need to figure out your driving style and what you want out of it. Do you want to mod a lot or a little? Comfort while street driving matter? What type of racing do you do (if any at all)?

well if you want a GT, i would probably recommend taking the time to search for a good bullitt GT and mod the hell out of it. should cost at or under 10k for one with relatively low mileage. or, if you want to go the 3v route, drop it on a s197 GT, which I've found some for about $12k with decent mileage. with a new intake and the cheap tuner they come with, plus gears and decent tires, you'll be running 12s in no time (provided you are a good enough driver) and you'll still have at least several thousand bucks to burn (maybe stereo or suspension, whatever gets your rocks off). i personally don't care for the 3v's, but hey, thats just me, and i still got respect for their power potential

he said "GT," but if you have the means to get an 03-04 Terminator, DO IT! The platform is very solid for upgrades, and you are a simple pulley swap and tune from 450+ rwhp

 

Damn 20K to Spend!! Congrats! Get a nice 03-04 COBRA !!!!!! Anything else is just frikkin retarded.

They respond better to basic bolt on mods rather a GT ..

If I had 20K to SPEND id be driving a black 03-04 Cobra Coupe as soon as I saw on for sale in that range!!!!

Plus, Cobras are alot more RARE than GT's, Mach 1's.

So when someone that knows mustangs sees one on the street they would be checking it out like crazy with envy...I know I do..lol I live my GT but I would stab ah hoe for a Cobra. (not literally)
