Default Fuel Guage Never Accurate HELP

So ive heard that there is a mechanism behind the guage cluster called a "slosh module"? is this correct, thats the part the prevents the fuel guage from randomly going from full to empty to past full. its like its got a mind of its own . one thing i noticed is that even though the needle was at 1/2 tank, the low gas light came on.... my friend says its a slosh module and my mehanic says its probably the sending unit..... i am about to do the fuel pump on my own soon so i was going to do the sending unit while the tak is out anyway but what do you think it is? i heard every foxbody has this same problem... it is really irritating and i must fix it. help please!!!!

oh also, i am looking to buy a welbro 255 liter per hour pump, my motor is a 306 with 24# injectors, edelbrock rpm alluminum heads, gt-40 upper/lower intake, im new to mustangs so i need some help, i think the stock pumps are 190 lpr? im wondering if the 255 is too much
