My stereo went out the other. Just shut itself off! Now I can't turn it on, can't set clock, can't play CDs...nothing! Pulled all 3 fuses that say radio...even disconnected the batt for a while to see if it reset and nothing!

The dealer wants $150 diagnostic fee... but sheesh! Ideas? Experience?

you would probably be better off just finding a used one at a junkyard or online(one is on sale on ebay for $60). it would takes 5 minutes to replace.

 

RYAN -- Thank you.... do you know if I would need to go to the dealer to have it reprogrammed once installed? I looked at the one you suggested on ebay and someone there said something about dealer programming.

not sure about the dealer programming thing. im not very familiar with the new shaker 500 systems. The only thing i could imagine that would need to be programmed would be oil change warning(if that is even displayed through the radio anymore). you might be better off asking that question in the S197 forum, or the audio forum.
