Default side view mirror wobbles

I recently purchased a 2002 GT and I'm slowly bringing it back. Next on the list is that both of my side view mirrors wobble and it drives me crazy. It not the frame, but rather its the glass. The glass is secure but it SEEMS like the cable that adjusts each is a little loose or stretched. Has any one else had this problem and if so how can it be fixed? Most of our problems don't seem unique so I'm pretty sure somebody must have the same frustratiuon.

I have the same thing on my 94. The previous owner said the glass itself broke and another one was put on (just the mirror glass). I believe the cable might have gotten streatched (sp) while removing the old mirror. I just bought a new set (new to me from Pic-A-Part) for $50. I'm going to just switch them both out. I know you can get new aftermarket for around the same price, but I have no idea on their quality. When I swap them I'm going to take the wobly (again sp) one apart and see why it's loose. If I find something I'll post it here.

I just replaced the mirrors (entire unit) on the 94 and took a look at the old ones (the ones that wobble). It looks like the mirror and motor assembly snap into the housing and the snaps are loose. I'll take some time next weekend to see if I can get them apart without destroying them to see what the issue is! I love taking things apart it's getting them back together that frustrates me...LOL
