Getting a mustang in 6 months
hey guys, as a newbie to this forums i wasn't exactly sure where to post this. But as the title says, in six months when i get back from my deployment i will be getting either a 2012 GT or possibly a 2013 GT.
I plan on buying new intake, headers, and exhast for the stang while im "over there" so that within the day or two that i buy the car, i can bolt them on. the information that im looking for however is hard for me to find.
i plan on registering the car in CA which i know have really strict emission laws. and i would like to see the exact regulations concerning the emissions and what i could do within those limitations. If the restrictions are to much for what i want to do, as a last resort i could register the car in IL.
any help is appreciated, and thank you for your time. =)

If you're going to be getting the car and think you want mods ready to install. DO NOT get a 2013.
The 2013 is revised so what works on the 2012 may not work on the 2013. Not to mention for a CAI tune you need the computer code off the car so the proper tune can be provided.
Also some of the parts may work from the 2012 for the 2013 but they will not be CARB certified for CA. It usually takes six month to a year after production vehicles start rolling off the line for something to get certified for CA.
