free tuning
i need a few before/after pulls for a job im trying to get and i would be willing to tune anyones car in the detroit area with any stand alone system willing to help me out with this, all you have to pay for is the dyno time i have the most experience with AEM and the Motec M800 but have experience with many other as well. please email me at bensalasko@yahoo.com if you are interested
i have been tuning for over 3 years and i wouldnt be in this situation if i hadnt thought that it would be a good idea to delete all my old files to clean out my computer, i have some logs and some Gtech before/after of some tuning i did today. the problem is i have nothing to show for all the work i have done right now so thats the best i can do for assuring you that your car will be in good hands

RE: stand alone tuning
When it comes to fuel map, will you be tuning using wideband oxygen sensor, exhaust temperature sensor, or a dyno?
When it comes to ignition, on a stock GT 4.6L motor, what's the average timing you could set at 5000 rpm and full throttle before getting detonation?

RE: stand alone tuning
fuel map i would use a wide band obviously but an egt can be used for fine adjustment, a dyno only helps for quick power tuning and isn't really related to fuel maps other than being an easy way to get to different load sites in a controlled envirement.
as far as ignition every motor is different, but at 5k on a bone stock motor i would start around ~20 degrees depending on what shape the motors in and work my way up, but i havent tuned maney bone stock cars, obviously the AFR is going to have a big affect on the timing you can run as well. i would start to worry about serious knock and detonation around 30 degrees or higher

RE: stand alone tuning
Sounds like you know what you're doing. Thumbs up.
I'm installing megasquirt 2 ECU into my stang. I will need a base AFR and ignition maps. That's either accomplished the usual way or you could stick stock maps in there. Can you get me stock AFR map for 01 GT? Please e-mail 4600cc@superford.org
BTW: I've gotten away with timing as high as 36 BTDC at 5000 rpm and full throttle, no detonation.

Also, I offer megasquirt and megajolt build services.

RE: stand alone tuning
while i have never tuned a megasquirt getting you a stock map wouldnt be a problem at all, i have no doubt you could "get away" with higher timing than that but i wouldnt go there without it on a dyno and preferably a knock sensor or egts at the least

RE: stand alone tuning
we made 601HP on a 3000gt with td05 16g turbos and a stock motor with small side mount intercoolers today at godspeed. with a IC pipe blowing off at 6500 or so RPM's on the last run
IC's were really heat soaked air temps over 200, i will post the dyno sheet as soon as i get it from the owner
