Default Clutch problem i think.

I have a 86 gt. it has a world class t5 tranny and is pretty much stock. I think the throw out bearing is going out or the clutch. It goes into gear easily with no grinding, but when the car is in gear like slowing down to stop and the clutch is pushed in it makes a rubbing noise. If i let the clutch out or put it back in neutral it stops. It does it around the 2000 rpm range. let me know what you all think. And let me know what clutch i should go with. I was thinking centerforce, but i have heard the King Cobras are good and are a bit cheaper. I need a good steet and strip clutch being i drive this car alot. Something that can handle up to 400 hp. I dont think i will ever go over that amount. The car propably has somewhere around 275 to 300 hp right now.

Default RE: Clutch problem i think.

It could be a throw out bearing making the noise...And i had a centerforce in my car and it started spinning it in fourth gear so I opted for the king cobra which everyopne said couldnt handle over 400 hp but i know i am making more cause it ran 11.7 at 127 so that well over 400rwh time.I doubt the clutch is making the noise so try changing the throw out bearing put if there is alot of miles on the clutch change it while the tranny is out cause it has to come out for the bearing anyways
