Cd Player Problem Please help

Unhappy Cd Player Problem Please help

i was playing a cd this morning and all of a sudden the sound cut out. the player was showing "Err" so i tried ejecting it but it kept saying "Err". what could the problem be?

stock or what brand? Really the only thing you can hope will work is to disconnect power to it and hope it resets itself or some brands will have a reset button to push behind the faceplate. It is not uncommon for them to sometimes get just far enough out of alignment that the unit thinks something is wrong and shuts down to keep from doing further damage. When you reconnect power to it, you will probably hear the loading mechanism move, and it may eject your disc at the same time. You can either pull the hrns on the back of the deck or disconnect the fuse or battery. No I do not know which fuse to pull.

If it is an aftermarket unit look behind the faceplace for a micro switch and use a pen/pencil to push it in for a couple of seconds. When releasing it again you should hear the loading mech cycle and hopefully eject your disc.

+1 to ttocs. The fuse should be on the same circuit as the dome light. or just pull the negitive cable on the battery.
