Default oil pressure........

I have low oil pressure at idle. On the scale where its says normal the needle is on the L. It's half way while driveing. 124,000 miles on motor, but runs strong. Any ideas?????????????

It could be that your oil pick up is clogged. In this case you'd need to drop the oil pan and clean the pick up line. But wait for some other responses and try easy things first, this job is a PITA.

if the needle is at the L that is on the way high side. if its in the middle when driving, totally normal. but if it seems off to you or fluctuates could be the the sending unit

Mine will flucuate too, except it reads about half way all the time which is normal. The oil pressure is going to fluctuate as you are at different rpms (it's going to be higher at higher rpms and vise versa).
