My uncle just got finished installing a flywheel clutch in his miata. He is saying that with the wheels on the ground and the transmission in gear he can still turn motor with a wrech on crank . Any ideas? Doesn't seem like trans is engaging?

Well sounds like there's a problem there. Sounds like it's not fully, if at all, engaging. I would definitely go back and look at the clutch, since that's the last part to have work done.
