01 mustang 3.8 step on gas hesitates then goes people tell me head problems.

Could be the flux capacitor, bad milli-gauss reading too.

have you tried a tune up? plugs and wires mau take care of it.

Kick anyone who told you it's a head problem. They are full of it. The head gasket issue was 94 and midway into 95 - and was corrected at that point.

Could be as simple as changing out your plugs. I'd start there.

Hesitation on throttle could be any number of things. Most are minor. The 99-04 V-6 are notorious for burning through plug wires. Start with a tune-up by replacing plugs/wires as suggested by 95 greentgt. Be careful that the new wires don't rest on the exhaust manifold.

if that doesn't fix it, next up would be testing the coil pack.

Or start by testing the coil pack and go from there.

Agreed. It may be the plugs and wires. I'd run some seafoam in it to clear the gunk and maybe try some z max. I use it on the regular and it works great.
