Optimal Fuel Pressure
i need to know what would be optimal fuel pressure for these mods that i have... i have an adjustable regulator so i want it set right
302 bored .30 over to 306ci
edelbrock rpm performer head
gt40 upper/lower intake
bbk shorty headers
H pipe
MSD 6AL
MSD coil
24# Injectors
255LPH fuel pump
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator set at 47 psi
Mass air conversion
75mm Mass air sensor calibrated for 24 injectors
8mm bosch wires soon to be 9mm motorsport wires or 8.5mm msd wires... wich would you choose?
soon to have 75mm throttle body

RE: Optimal Fuel Pressure
yeah that is what i am running at now.... 50psi it does seem to be running good there but i wasnt positive if it was the perfect pressure..
as for the wires i wanted to go with msd because someone said the boot angle is adjustable so i can get a 90* angle to keep it from touching the header
although i would rather have the cheaper and larger ford racing wires but i do not know if they have a 90* i think they are 45*
i have autolite pluges that are designed for the edelbrock performer heads i have.... but since the heads take that specific plug the boot is forced to touch the BBK shorty header and it is constantly burning thru and arcing

RE: Optimal Fuel Pressure
there is no perfect pressure. it changes with every car/mod/weather.
you could probably set it down seeing that you have a 255lph pump.
put it on a dyno to know for sure.

RE: Optimal Fuel Pressure
yeah im trying to mess with it to get it right but for ssome reason at idle even with a ful tak my fuel presure guage bounces between 40 and 45 psi the pump is brand new and is a walbro so i cant see there being anything wrong with the pump....
also do you have a problem that when you have less than 3/4tank right turns drop your fuel pressure for a second
BTW niiicceeeee car i need a cowl hood

RE: Optimal Fuel Pressure
well i wanted to match the mass air sensor with the throttle body....
will a 75mm make my car run worse than say a 70mm? or will it just be pointlessly big?
about the fuel psi.. you say u run 32 isnt stock 43psi? i should go lower than stock? sounds contradicting

RE: Optimal Fuel Pressure
i got 8.5mm MSD wires... they are great... i was going to get fms but they only have a 45* boot and will burn on my header the msd clears the super tight spot being that they can be bent to 90* and i noticed a huge difference in rev's and power
