Default Oil Filter Adapter?

I have a 02 Mustang V6 3.8L, and my car has been leaking oil. I took it to Firestone earlier today and they looked at it and said it looks like a Oil Filter Adapter leak. They want to order a Oil Filter Adapter repair kit and install it, and add a dye to see if thats the only leak. They want to charge me $295, Is this my best option or would it be better to do myself?

Take a look for yourself. The oil filter is on the front, lower, drivers side of the motor. Shouldn't be too hard to find & see where the problem is coming from. Good luck...

What exactly is involved with changing this gasket. Mine has gone bad as well.
Would I just remove the filter then undo the boots under it?
