Chevy engine swap
Ok, here is the situation. I have a tired 302 in my '90 stang, i was wondering what it takes to perform an engine swap to a chevy 350. I know all you ford fans will cry out in support for your engines, just remember, i havent done anything yet. And either way i see it, its still AMERICAN muscle. I would like to now what i would have to do to perform this operation (such as replacing motor mounts?). Thanks.[sm=patriot.gif]

Honestly, I think this is one of those questions that, no matter how many poeple reply, you are still going to need to speak with some sort of professional.
Doesn't ford have a 5.7? The lightning is a 5.7 right?

chevy 350? how about ford 351? would probably be easier and you wouldn't end up with some frankestein of car.

RE: Chevy engine swap
i am actually a huge chevy fan even though i like my mustang but a chevy 350 will outperform a ford 351 but like fordguy17 said about a frankenstein car.... its not worth it
i had a 95 thunderbird that had a 4.6 from a 2002 mustang GT with a supercharger and that was bad enough trying to work on that thing.
and if you ever go to sell it after that........ well um i dont know of many people who are into ford and chevy at the same time
my opinion work the ***** out of your 5.0

RE: Chevy engine swap
if u got the money, find a 351 windsor and set that thing in there. its the closest you can get to the 5.0, but its a 5.8. there is a bunch that is swappable between the 351 W and the 5.0. more than most motors. much easier.
plus, the money to install is nothing compared to the Ford/Chevy laws youd be breaking!!!
